What Happened to Us:

Updated: Jun 27, 2022

In 2019, eating like most Americans eat landed my husband Jesse with liver and kidney disease, asthma, and the need for a quadruple bypass surgery. After the surgery, we knew we had to change something!

What We Did:

Hence, my research began, and it ended with a whole food plant based (WFPB) diet. We were so fearful for Jesse’s health that we packed up all food that wasn’t compliant, started the plant based diet, and have never looked back!

What I’ve Learned:
  • Plant based cooking is fun!

  • You need community to succeed.

  • It gets easier as you go along.

  • A WFPB diet breathes health into our bodies.

  • Education is key.

  • You have to know your “Why”.

How is Jesse Today?

Jesse no longer has kidney disease or asthma, and his liver disease is much improved. He has lost 50 pounds since the heart surgery and feels like a new man! He looks like a new man, too. Huh?

How is Peggy Today?

My total cholesterol went from 230 to 150 on a WFPB diet. All my other bloodwork is great, and I’ve maintained a normal weight for 3 years now.
